BOSTON (AP) Brigham & Women's Hospital has given a surgical team permission to perform partial face transplants to certain disfigured patients, according to a published report Sunday.
Brigham and Women's is the second U.S. hospital to make public its plans to offer the controversial and rare medical procedure.

MANCHESTER, Vt. (AP) The Nature Conservancy has acquired 312 acres of forestland that includes the summit of Mount Equinox from the Southern Vermont Arts Center.
Officials say the parcel is special because the land could be considered an ideal example of the northern hardwood forest.

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) Town police did not complete an internal report into police use of Tasers while arresting two protesters and the town may seek an independent evaluation of the incident, said acting Town Manager Barbara Sondag.
"We're looking if in-house if that is the best course to take," she said.
