ADAMS John Maziarz, young Adams painter and sculptor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maziarz of 11 Staples St., received an honorable mention for his oil painting, "The Trojan Horse" at the 12th annual Thursday Morning Club's art exhibit which opened yesterday at the Berkshire Inn in Great Barrington.

ADAMS A local man was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison in connection with a massive drug bust by the Berkshire County Drug Task Force and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in 2003.
Robert Cooney, 44, was arrested during 2003's Operation Overbaugh, which netted several pounds of marijuana and a quarter-million dollars in cash.
